Food startup raises investment from Helion Venture Partners

ID Fresh Foods are the makers of idly batter, chutneys and semi-cooked parottas and chapattis currently sell their products worth Rs 7 Crore every day in Chennai , Hyderabad, Mumbai, Mangalore, Mysore and Dubai.

 

The South Indian ready-to-cook packaged food startup, iD Fresh Food, has raised Rs.35 crores funding from Helion Venture Partners. ID Fresh Foods are the makers of idly batter, chutneys and semi-cooked parottas and chapattis currently sell their products worth Rs 7 Crore every day in Chennai , Hyderabad, Mumbai, Mangalore, Mysore and Dubai.

This is the first round of institutional fund raising by the company and capital will be used to introduce new product categories, accelerate geographic expansion and augment the team. Following the round, Rahul Chowdhri, Partner at Helion, will join the board of the company.

It was Founded in  2005 by IIM Bangalore alumnus, PC Musthafa and his associates, Shamsudeen TK, Abdul Nazer, Jafar TK and Noushad TA.

“We manufacture overnight and supply fresh every day,” said Musthafa. ID,which is targeting to be a `1,000 crore business by 2020, is now investing about Rs 2 crore in product development and is hiring food sciences experts.
