What is Mumpa App and who is the team behind your venture?
Mumpa is a parenting app which will help parents
- Find products & services for their children based on recommendations and reviews from other parents
- Scoot for handpicked deals around them in the kids essentials space
- Engage with other parents on kids issues through a forum.
On the product/service provider side it will
- Build a communication platform for retailers to reach out to their target audience in a more engaging manner
- Help them with lower end of the funnel leads
- Be a hyper local commerce platform
Sugandh Sinha Founder: Sugandh is the soul of Mumpa. She’s been an early adopter of technology and has over 7 years of experience managing high performing product & marketing teams. She holds a bachelors in literature and masters in management. No wonder, then, that she’s beautifully crafted her raison d’être into a periodic symphony of making Mumpa a great parenting partner, discussing Homer, crooning classics and bringing up 2 toddlers.
Saurabh Kumar 10+ years of experience in online marketing & web analytics and experience with design and implementation of large SEO friendly websites. Product development expert, Saurabh has been working in Online Marketing since 2003. He has worked with several brands on online marketing, platform development and business intelligence. He is a Computer Engineer from NITK and has a PGDM from IIM, Ahmedabad.
How did you come across this idea? What was missing from the current solutions that you are seeking to fix?
Being a parent herself, Sugandh found parenting as one of the most challenging jobs. Parents have an endless list of things (both products & services) to get for their kids. She is trying to facilitating parents to take informed decisions about the products & service with the help of Mumpa.
How are you acquiring (or planning to acquire) your first customers and what has been the learning along the way?
We have been trying to interact with parents on a one to one basis. We held a promotion activity in one of the premier malls in Gurgaon on Children’s Day. We collaborated with kids play areas and offered attractive discounts to parents through the Deals and Vouchers section of the app.
We were able to introduce them to the app, download it on their device, explain its features, and show them how it is a one stop source for parents to help them take informed decisions for their children. The response was very encouraging.
